R.N.A. is designed as a Revolutionary
12 step, self~help program for Folks of Afreekan Descent (FAD) to support their HEALING from the
MAAFA—"the great suffering of our people at the hands of Europeans in the Western Hemisphere”
(Dr.
Marimba Ani, 1997, p. xxi)
R.N.A., maintains that Post~Traumatic Slavery Disorder (PTSD)
is an accurate diagnosis to describe the resulting oppression/depression depicted in the behaviors of Afreekans home and abroad. These behaviors are also consistent with an illness Dr. Marimba Ani terms "Cultural AIDS". It is from this Cultural AIDS Virus—E.V.I.L.
(european viral infection~lies) from the european (cav~e ) [people]—that the emotional dis~ease of "Cultural Schizophrenia" originates.
It is time for Afreekan Descendents to come together sharing OUR Experiences, Strengths and PLAN for RE~covery.
Alcoholics Anonymous (A/A) and
Narcotics Anonymous (N/A) are "programs" for those struggling to overcome the use of alcohol or narcotics in a way which support their destruction. I believe the "program" has been successful because it allows its members to tell THEIR STORY~
EXPERIENCES of how substances have impacted their lives. They also share THEIR
STRENGTHS and
"HOPES" for the future and support each other in achieving this as a primary purpose.
Conversely, Afreekans seeking to heal from RACISM, share their E.S.P. (experience, strengths
and PLAN(S) for our RE~covery.

When I speak of “R.A.W.”,
I am referring to my emotional state, my Spirit.
I liken it to having been drug across a surface that will scrape the outer layer of skin off. My nerves are exposed and every touch (word) has the potential for causing great pain.
I recognize that our enslavement to European culture as a process of rubbing the “black” off of us. In it’s place, is pink and white, representing the blood and body that
that is exposed .....
